Together we can fight cervical cancer

Greater Glasgow & Clyde

Girls in Scotland who have left school and will be under 19 years of age on 1 September 2009 are being invited to receive the HPV vaccine to help protect against cervical cancer.

If this applies to you, you should have already received a letter from your local health board and started to be given the vaccine. Remember that for the best protection you need three doses over 6 months, so it’s important you attend all three appointments. As the injections are to your upper arm, it’s easier if you wear a loose-sleeved top when you attend.

If you haven’t yet received this letter, or have missed any of your appointments, please call 0800 015 0345 between 10am and 4pm, Monday to Friday.

Some immunisations are being provided by local GP practices. If this applies to you, your letter will have advised you to contact your GP practice, which will then have arranged for you to have the vaccine.
