Together we can fight cervical cancer

Girls in Scotland who have left school and will be under 19 years of age on 1 September 2009 are being invited to receive the HPV vaccine to help protect against cervical cancer.

All girls in the NHS Tayside area eligible for the vaccine who have left school and started but have not yet completed their course of doses of the vaccine should have received a letter reminding them to visit a local pharmacy to get their remaining injections.

At the start of the new year (2010), NHS Tayside will be inviting girls who have recently left school and did not begin a course of the vaccine to visit their local community clinics for their immunisation.

Girls who have left school, are eligible for the vaccine, have not yet had their immunisation and may have recently moved address should inform their GP or contact NHS Tayside's Child Health Department on 01382 527907 to ensure they have their correct contact details.
