Together we can fight cervical cancer

Women over 26

The HPV vaccine is only licensed in Scotland for women under the age of 26. Clinical trials of how effective it is for older women are still underway.

Women over 26 are very likely to have HPV at some point because it is so common in sexually active adults. Regular cervical screening is the best way to detect abnormal cells caused by HPV early enough to do something about them.

All women in Scotland are invited for cervical screening at least every three years from the age of 20 until the age of 60.
