Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

What if I don’t want to have the immunisation?

It is your choice whether to have the vaccine or not, but it is recommended that you do for the reasons given above. If you are in school, you should have been given a consent form. You and your parent, or carer, should discuss the information in this booklet before agreeing to have the immunisation. If you are in school, and aged under 16, your parent, or carer, is being asked to sign the consent form. Parental agreement is always advised, although it is not always necessary. If you are aged 16 or over it is important you sign and return the form yourself. You should speak to the nurse or doctor if you want more information on your own, or with your parents, if you’d prefer.
