Together we can fight cervical cancer

Personal stories

It’s natural to be a bit worried about having a new vaccine jab. It helps to know other people have been through the same thing. It also helps to hear first-hand why it is so important to protect yourself against cervical cancer.

The Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) vaccine has already been given to lots of girls around the world. Some may have a special reason for being immunised, if a friend or relative has had cervical cancer because of the virus or it may have been offered as part of an immunisation programme in their home country.

Here people share their personal experiences and why they think protection against HPV is so important.

The following stories are all true, and contain content which some people may find upsetting.
